The equipment allows companies to provide conditions very similar to the outdoor environment created in laboratory conditions. Inducing surface damage caused by UV radiation, temperature changes and humidity in an accelerated manner allows shortening the time required for testing wood materials and surface coatings. These devices differ from the devices currently in use in that they are capable of inducing surface erosion of the material as a result of the created climatic conditions, thus being able to fully simulate the outdoor environment. Surface erosion is one of the main causes of damage to wood materials and surface coatings. The devices also allow the precise measurement and assessment of the extent and size of surface damage caused in the outdoor environment or in an artificial environment. Deteriorating climatic conditions have caused an increase in surface damage, which can no longer be measured with the devices currently used in the laboratory.
